Coast Hotels & Resorts today announced the appointment of
Volker Grady as General Manager of the 179-room Coast Bastion Inn
in Nanaimo, B.C.
Volker brings to Coast Hotel & Resorts 14 years of dynamic and diversified hospitality experience serving in a General Manager capacity as well as progressive responsibilities in marketing and sales, human resources and community relations. No stranger to the Coast Hotels' brand, Volker served as General Manager of the Coast Bastion Inn from 1999 to 2005. He was most recently Sales Manager of Three Point Motors Mercedes Benz in Victoria, B.C. following several years working as a hospitality consultant. He was previously General Manager of the Coast Canadian Inn in Kamloops, B.C., Acting General Manager of the Coast Victoria Harbourside & Marina and has also held senior food and beverage positions at popular hotels in Victoria, Whistler, Richmond and Burnaby, B.C.

Volker completed his Hotel Management Apprenticeship in Germany in 1979 as well as the Advanced Management Program for the Hospitality Industry at the University of Guelph in 2002. An active community leader, he is a founding Director of hospitality industry associations in Kamloops and Nanaimo, B.C., a former Director of the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce and an industry advisor to regional government and Chambers of Commerce.
