Coast Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre Receives Prestigious Housekeeping Award and Health & Safety Certificate

Calgary, Alberta – May 21, 2009 – For
the third consecutive year, Calgary’s Coast Plaza Hotel
& Conference Centre has received the
Alberta Hotel &
Lodging Association's (AHLA) 2009 award for excellence in
housekeeping. This is the sixth year since 2003 the
Coast Plaza Hotel & Conference Centre has won this prestigious
award.
The AHLA Housekeeping Award, established in 1983, is presented
annually by the Alberta tourism industry and Alberta Economic
Development to hotels that demonstrate excellence in housekeeping.
Award winners belong to a select group of properties that
participate in the Tourism Alberta Approved Accommodation Program
and who have achieved superiority in cleanliness, comfort and
maintenance.

Following a successful Health & Safety Audit performed by
the
Alberta Hotel Safety
Association (AHSA), the Coast Plaza Hotel & Conference
Centre earned a Certificate of Recognition (COR) through
WCB’s Partners in Injury Reduction Program.
This signifies that the hotel observes the AHSA commitment in
promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe working
environment. The program’s objective is to
reduce injuries and claims by increasing awareness and
responsibility of health & safety within the hospitality
industry.
